After a number of years of work volunteer teams from the Supply Chain Council (SCC) have published SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference Model) Version 11. This new model is available to all members of the Supply Chain Council. The SCC will be incorporating the new model into the new SCOR training and certification documentation as of the beginning of 2013. Version 11 includes Enable Process, Best Practices, and Cost Metrics redesign. These updates bring the model current with how these processes, practices, and metrics are needed by supply chain practitioners implementing the model. SCOR describes the business activities associated with all phases of satisfying a customer's demand. The model itself is organized around primary management processes, and now with version 11, ENABLE is advanced to one of these processes, so there are six; PLAN, MAKE, SOURCE, DELIVER, RETURN, and ENABLE.

I have used the previous version of SCOR and found it to be very useful. I certainly look forward to the training that will be available in the new year.
The SCOR model is very interesting. If you have not looked at it before I would suggest that you look at the website and get familiar with concepts. It can help if you are a supply chain professional.
