Back in June 2010 Marin County filed suit against Deloitte Consulting for an alleged ERP implementation failure. In April 2005, Marin County hired Deloitte Consulting to help them implement a SAP system to replace the county's fragmented legacy systems. Marin County said that they spent over $41 million on a system that failed to deliver the expected benefits. At the time of the lawsuit Marin County said that they would have to replace the implemented SAP systems and this would cost additional funds. IT World reported that this week Marin County and the defendants, Deloitte and SAP, have reached a settlement of less than $4 million after the court dismissed a number of Marin County's claims. In addition SAP says that Marin County is still using their SAP system despite the County's claim that they would need to replace the system
