Is Your White Collar Turning Green?

This week my inbox has seen an unusual amount of e-mails with the words green collar in the title. The use of the term green collar has become extremely popular especially with Van Jones’ bestseller The Green Collar Economy and these years democratic hopefuls promising more green collar jobs.
Although definitions of what a green collar job actually is, it is safe to assume that it includes those who are employed in the environmental sectors of the economy. However as companies begin to adopt policies that can lead to a green supply chain, more employees will find there blue or white collars will be turning green.
The American Solar Energy Society (ASES) published a report that currently there are over 8.5 million green collar jobs in the US and this steadily increase so that by the year 2030, one in four positions in the USA can be classed as green collar.
