Product Registries
Product registries enable the efficient transfer of data among supply chain partners. Technologies such as bar-coding and RFID which are used in conjunction with the registries provide seamless information transferability. The benefits are reduced errors and increased product availability.
US:1SYNC (a non profit business unit of GS1 US) establishes standards for product identification and electronic communications for multiple industries such as grocery, mass merchandise and automotive. Its clients include Wal*Mart, Proctor and Gamble and Coca-Cola.
Canada:GS1 Canada (a member organization of GS1) represents Canadas interests in the on-going development of global standards for product identification.
